That's OK. You couldn't have known that my own family in the Philippines
belong to what you may call "hilariously simpleminded natives", and I
know what its like to hear people say that about my own family. Most of
my Filipino relatives are dirt poor and with very basic education. When
I was a child, I had my vacations at my Lola's (grandmother's) place; a
simple nipa hut on stilts (no bricks), with chickens and pigs under the
bamboo floor (no supermarkets), kerosene lamps for light (no electricity),
a well where bullfrogs swim for our water supply and a deep cesspit for
our toilet (no plumbing), and a carabao (waterbuffalo) pulling a hollowed
out log for transportation (no roads). So there's absolutely no reason for
you to go PC on me about "hilariously simpleminded natives".
