Well, my Swedish is abysmal. I only studied a tourist phrase tape I bought EGAD!
nearly 20 years ago when I had a penpal in Malmo. I used to frequent a chat
room where there were a number of Swedes and Dane who were frequently on-line
at the same time as me. I chatted with them about 2/3 in English and 1/3 in
"Skandinavska" -- my own Norse pidgin which randomly mixed the words of Swedish
I knew with the Danish words I was learning and my own (occasionally accurate)
guesses at what English word X might be in Swedish. I have to say that Swedish
is usually somewhat more comprehensible (in writen form anyway) than other
Norselangs, a good bit more so than Dutch and makes German look like a
HumanLang designed by a Klingon conlanger!

It does, but I really don't care. I'm just amazed that there's

PS. Och var det Christophe som sa att listan bara kunde ha ett
enda officiellt språk? Det tycker jag är lite väl trångsynt. Vi
som kan svenska borde skriva lite svenska meningar i varje mejl
vi skickar. Till slut kommer svenska vara s?vanligt p?listan
att det godkänns som ett officiellt språk. Muahahaha. :)
