http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_fixe.htm. It makes it clear that most
conservative Christian organisations call homosexuality "something that one
does, a chosen lifestyle", denying that it is an unchosen orientation. I've
often seen the expression "chosen lifestyle", both by American rightwingers
and French ones (in French of course :)) ). I find it surprising that you
never heard it.

Well, if you listen carefully, you'll hear that right-wingers opposing
homosexuality always call it a "behaviour", an "addiction", a "preference",
clearly implying that a choice had been made and can be unmade, rather than
an innate orientation.

It is in right-wingers' eyes which refuse to see in homosexuality more than
a behaviour.
