A bit on religion: Dalmatsia is primarily Catholic, but there are a small
number of Eastern Orthodox dating from the time of empire and a small
number of Muslims, dating from Turkish times.
Anyway, here's a little taster of the language.
The orthography is basically Italian, but:
z = /z/
j = /Z/
y = /j/
Stress is on the penult. Note that the masculine plural marker -ri is not
stresschanging: /`patru/ "father", /`patruri/ "fathers"
IN Nomna da Patrul, e da Fiyul, e da Spretul Santu.
Gloria a Patrul e a Fiyul e a Spretul Santu, scu aira in inetsiul, ye nunc
e sciampru, e in seclu da secluri.
