Most noun stems are monovalent (under my system). They parallel the monovalent verb stems except that they are usually marked as present tense and don't usually take aspect marking.

The relational noun stems (such as kinship terms and body part words) are divalent.

It means that I have a problem with terminology. The first "subject" refers to the non-expressed argument of a non-verb form. The second "subject" means the role of the single argument of a monovalent word. I'm not sure what to do about this. Jeff
