Actually, I just found out that TIPA ships with pre-made, pre-shone
versions of barred b, barred l, etc.. Plus, it gives you a way of making
*any* barred letter, with full control over the length of the bar, the
vertical position of the bar, and the kerning adjustments to be made to
the resulting letter. How's that for flexibility? :-)

Having not done anything serious with Windows for at least 4 years, I'm
