Actually just from looking at the last few lines unglossed. It's amazing how adept one can become at such cryptanalysis-at-sight. At one time Edgar Allen Poe ran a cryptanalysis contest (after the publication of his story "The Gold Bug") in which he undertook to solve any ciphers sent to him (only monalphabetic substitution ciphers, actually, for those who care). He got enough practice that he could identify the Preamble to the U.S. Declaration of Independence and various Biblical passages without actually solving them, just by the pattern. -- John Cowan http://www.ccil.org/~cowan cowan@ccil.org You tollerday donsk?
