Look, it was a mistake, I'm embarrassed, now sttop reminding me that I
messed up big time. Everywhere you see 'jedai', replace that bit of text
with 'lailai'. Jedai is teh historic tense - lailai is the prophetic.
Rough;y speaking, these are extreme past and extreme future tenses.
Implicit in the prophetic tense is the notion that neither speaker nor
listener will personally encounter the events, because they expect to be
dead before it happens. The historic tense is similarly distal, except
teh temporaral aspect is in the opposite direction.

My only mistake was to write jedai instead of lailai in teh original.
All else was correct.
