Heck, many anglophones who learn German aren't even aware of the fact
that they have [C] in their phonetic (though not phonemic) inventory!

They usually substitute [S] or [k] instead, but I think that more
teachers of German should make students aware of the fact that they
may have the required phone e.g. in |huge| [CjudZ] and just have to
practise making it in other contexts as well. (That is, to
phonemicise(?) that allophone.)
