apparently has nativized this loan faster than US, by accenting the first
syllable, so to our US ears it almost rhymes with _carriage_. (Note the
accent and /&/ in Adrian's transcription.)   I've never heard the first syl.
accented in the US (tho I haven't been _everywhere_!)  We seem to say
/g@'radZ/ or /gradZ/, or Frenchified /g@'raZ/.

"Chauffeur" seems to vary between /'Sowf@r/ and /Sow'f@r/ .

Speaking of "leisure"-- Due to education and residence in Boston/New York, I
say /'lEZ@r/-- but in the Midwest it's mostly /'liyZ@r/
