IIRC the thing I was referring to was called "Bucket and Ladder" ;))) .

You would be amazed at what you can accomplish with not large mirrors
simply by putting them in the right position (you can make a room look
twice as big as it already is, but also twice as small, just by a matter of
orientation :) ).
