It's one of those English pairs that are more or less synonyms in one form, but
diverge radically on derivation, like fear/fright vs.
fearful(=frightened)/frightful(=frightening). "Occasion" and "incident" both
more or less mean "event", but "occasionally" and "incidentally" are different
matters entirely (and from "eventually", as it happens).
Offhand, though, I cant think of any such pairs in any of my conlangs. Hmmm...
