heh heh, I love it...
From: "John Cowan" <jcowan@...>
| chunky monkey had a cow
| but he hasn't got it now
Well French and Spanish have been done and those are the only two I could do
that easily. I'll try Russian soon.
In the meantime, a *preview* of the Tech translation, which is currently
unavaiable since I don't have all the words I need. I do have "monkey" and
"cow", which are _maNga_ (N = eng) and _baq'ra_ for now. The syntax of the
statement would be:
the-monkey-dat. the chunky-dat. exist-3.sg."there"-3.sg.(dat.) cow-nom.
but neg.part. to-him(dat.) now/today
The normal word order of Tech is VSO, but the subject got moved to the front of
the sentence for emphasis. I want to make this rhyme like the original, which
shouldn't be too hard, considering Tech has virtual free word order and a lot of
synonyms. I expect a lot of words for "cow"/"bull"/"cattle"/"ox"/"steer", each
with its own specialized meaning.
