First creating it and then memorizing it seems a foolish exercise; I
make up words, put them in the database (or forget to do that and
then much later I discover that I have synonyms :-) and remember or
forget them, depending on whether they're used often.

Same here. Or when it has a very clear structure, like poetry, or is
set to music.
