What can I say? All the good advice has already been offered.
(All of which I agree with.)
Other possibilities from my work teaching lang to kids:
1. Play in the lang; use it for games. There's nothing like
the excitement of a good game to power up the memory.
2. Try to joke in the lang. Humor also aids memory.
3. Try making crossword puzzles in the lang. Later you can
go back and try to solve them. Both making and solving are
great for learning vocabulary.
(If we're talking about a natlang, chances are that books of
crosswords and other language puzzles already exist. )
