Yes. In fact, the explanatory schema, as well as the dummy word used
in making form names, was borrowed by Hebrew grammarians from Arabic
grammarians, probably during the Middle Ages.
Of course it *works* in Hebrew because H. and A. are both South
Central Semitic languages....
