Pontic Greek in particular does not use final sigma. Unicode does not encode
the separate variants of Arabic letters (except a set provided for compatibility
with other character encodings), but does encode long s, final sigma, and
the Hebrew finals separately, both for compatibility and because their use
is not 100% predictable: "filos." at the end of a sentence will have final
sigma, but if it's an abbreviation for "filosofeia" it will not.
