Sorry if I offended, David. I thought it just barely possible that
nobody had pointed out the usability concerns with your color choices.
Left to my own devices, I also choose color schemes that others
regard as garish. For years our family home page was gold text on
maroon...
Certainly, it's your site, and you should do what you want. Just be
aware that the colors are going to put off some visitors. The B&W
stylesheet is a reasonable compromise.
As to the narrow-window problem, I think there comes a point where you
just have to let it go and, in response to the complaint "Doctor, it
hurts when I do this", prescribe a remedy of "So don't do that." :)
