There are generally accepted guidelines for text coloration based on

And never use blue for text - its the

...let me say, in the words of Olaudah Equiano, am I not a man
and a brother? I am my site's #1 visitor. I spend *hours* editing
and working on (and apparently not finding embarrassing typos
in the text of) my site. I've never had trouble looking at it--or
any site, for that matter (well, except for those annoying flashing
advertisements). My eyes are no better or worse than the
average American consumer; I have to wear glasses to see things
in the distance (like the other side of the room). As far as I know,
I'm not colorblind, and my blues are your blues. Can there be
peace between us? Or will I have to make every one of my pages
look like this tea rose curtain valence by Pfaltzgraff?

Sorry, but I have to ask you to disambiguate: Does it (Mark's site)
have the same problems *if and only if* you make the window
very narrow, or does it have the same problems even when you
view it with a more or less ordinary window size? (If it's the latter,
I'm just going to abandon this attempt at a fix.)
