I'm just wondering if anyone else out there could provide some good
examples of music with lyrics that involve some type of
code-switching or mixing in of "foreign" words or phrases. Here are
a few (Spanglish) examples of the type of thing I'm looking for.
* "Gimme Tha Power" by Molotov
" ... dame dame dame dame todo el power
para que te demos en la madre
gimme gimme gimme gimme todo el poder
so i can come around to joder ... "
* "Caress Me Down" by Sublime
"Mucho gusto me llamo bradley,
Im hornier than ron jeremy,
And if you wanna get popped in your knee,
Just wipe that look off your bati face ... "
* "Hey, baby, que paso?" by The Texas Tornados
" ... Hey, baby, que paso?
Thought I was your only vato
Hey, baby, que paso?
Won't you give uno beso? ... "
* "Spanish Bombs" by The Clash
" ... Spanish songs in Andalucia, Mandolina, oh mi corazon
Spanish songs in Granada, oh mi corazon ... '
I'd like to hear about similar songs regardless of the languages.
