This should sound weird coming from me, but..., concultures are NOT
important for some conlangs. I mean, consider auxlangs, loglangs,
personal langs, and private langs. Most of these types of conlangs
are created for its "own sake", as you you say.
But if you intend to create an artlang aimed at being naturalistic,
then I'd say you need a conculture.
