Boy, David's really been under fire here :p

I recall myself dropping a bomb like that sometime, quite accidentally, by
parading my frustrations with Ancient Greek; I meant absolutely nothing
with it, but I got condemned for not liking that noble language. But in
retrospect, that was my fault - I shot myself in the foot, for sure :p

I'm suspecting David really didn't anything offensive to the list; but then
I don't know him. So I join in with those who're asking: "Why, indeed why?"

Anyway, this topic has me thinking of LASER (Light-Amplification by
Stimulated Emission of Radiation)... :p
