It's "the day off" or "a long weekend" for people with jobs, and it's "break" for people at school. Anything longer than "spring break" (one week) is vacation (tho basically this means summer and Christmas). And even if the time period is short, it's still a vacation if travel is involved, so long as none of "home", "work" or "school" are a major part of it. *Muke! -- http://www.frath.net/
