Yes, this was exactly what I was aiming for when I formulated that rule: esses aren't lost except in front clusters of esC-.. Oh and it's nice my thread has lasted more than 3 or 4 messages. This has been very fascinating. I've been saving the messages to this thread so I can read them over.

Yes, I didnt want to lose ALL esses, because I like the plurals formed with -s, -es. Losing the final esses would screw up my system, and I do like the sound of s, i just thought it was cool to drop the s where I did. UNLESS, the rule is all esses drop, except final. Not natural I think, but well, being a fun language, I could do that. Any other ideas?
