Eh? Not to me. Perhaps it's related to my persistent inability
to keep left-right straight, but it often takes me several seconds of
staring at a rotation clock to make out what time it is.

Perchance the cultural associations are helping this? As the older thing,
analog clocks have prestige. In America, at least, only analog watches can
be worn in any semi-formal setting, as digital watches are considered
insufferably tacky.
