I think you're right, and I think I've realised before that _deux_ was
[d2]. However, I thought it was just a coincidence. Obviously _neuf_
(yes) being [n9] didn't occur to me.
In any case, unless we propose the pronounciations [s7t] for _sept_ ,
and [s6] for _six_, I think there are still some awkward ones in there
(I think [1] is okay, being rather i-like. The same might br true of [6]
for turned-a).

True, and it looks very odd in a string of X-SAMPA. [{] at least has the
visual impression of being a bit like the ae-digraph (sort of, kind of.
Okay, not really. To add to the confusion, it's a different vowel in
official X-SAMPA. Sigh).
