From the _New Oxford Dictionary of English_:

verruca /v@'ru:k@/ >noun (pl. verrucae /-ki:, -si:/ or verrucas) a
contagious and usually painful wart on the sole of the foot; a plantar
wart.
 * (in medical use) a wart of any kind.
-DERIVATIVES verrucose adjective, verrucous adjective
