The American Heritage Dictionary says it's a wart in general (in medicine),
or the wart on a toad's back or a leaf (in biology). The source cited was
again Latin.
The band Veruca Salt was mentioned in one of the versions of Adam Sandler's
"Hanukkah Song", wasn't it? ~Danny~
