You'd use 'wie' (='as') instead of 'als'(='than') for equality, but
otherwise, the construction is similar:

         A is genauso groß  wie B
         A is equally large as  B

(Also note that colloquially, many people use 'wie' for both
constructions, but it is considered wrong.)
