Senjecas began with a ready-made lexicon, that of the PIE roots in Pokorny's "Indogermanisches Wörterbuch." These roots I adapted to fit my own phonology requirements coming up with a lexicon of about 1900 words. I began this long before the laryngeals were in vogue, or at least long before I knew they were in vogue. I have borrowed a few roots for concepts needed in my conculture from other ancient lexicons such as Finno-ugric (the word for "ski") and Tocharian (the word for "kumis"). But again I adapted the words to the Senjecan phonology. Any concepts I encountered in the various translations I've done, which were not in the lexicon (such as "mortar"), were translated by the use of compound words. Charlie
