        I don't think it's because of our cultural mixture. It's more a
religious stuff. I think it appeared in sports, because there's often
international confrontations. E.g.:
                "If God is Brazilian, we'll win that cup."
        And when we win:
                "God IS Brazilian. I told you! He wouldn't let us alone."
                (S/He surely isn't of the other nationallity, because WE won.)

        What do you mean?
        What you're describing is Mexico. Mesoamerica, as I was taught,
begins northwest of Colombia and ends southeast of Mexico. It's APART
from North America.
