I'm thinking about merging Genitive and Accusative à la Slavic in my recent
Turkic project Kuman Tyli: Acc.=Nom. for inanimate and Acc.=Gen. for animate
nouns and partitive:
tash-Ø kör-ürýe
stone-ACC see-INF
'to see a stone'
kyz-ny kör-ürýe
girl-ACC see-INF
'to see a girl'
suw-nu ich-erýe
water-GEN drink-INF
'to drink (some) water'.
