In my lang, length distinction is conserved. Again an effect of the Arabic substrate.

Do you also keep the Latin rule of stress placement, which happens to be identical in Arabic? (without the exception for clusters containing l or r)

LOL. I don't have that much Maggelity here. Writing a Romance language with the Arabic script is enough already ;))) .

I have i- personally ;) . And it's done in front of any initial cluster.
