Interestingly, the only constellation that has a name so far in Jarrda is
Jundi, the Butterfly ("j" pronounced as a voiced palatal stop). The =
outline
of the butterfly is formed mostly by stars from Cygnus, with a few from
Lyra, Cepheus, and Draco, as seen from the point of view of a planet
orbiting Procyon.
Now I'm not sure if there are butterflies on the Jarrda-speakers' home
world, or even where it is. Procyon isn't really the best place to put an
inhabitable world (but it's far better than Mizar!); the trouble is that
there aren't any suitable stars nearby either!
And I've already "borrowed" the Jarrda word for butterfly into Tirelat, =
as
"iunti" [jundi]. Actually, the Tirelat "c" would have been a better
equivalent for the Jarrda "j", but I bent the rules to avoid an =
unfortunate
visual similarity to an inappropriate English word.
