I often do that in the laboratory I work in. Everyone does speak English, but I
try to speak Dutch as much as possible, so people speak in Dutch to me. The
thing is, after a while I often have to switch to English because my active
Dutch is too limited to carry on, but often the person I'm speaking to carries
on in Dutch because my passive Dutch is up to the task. It makes conversations
a bit strange ;))) .
