Cilantro is coriander leaves; or, if you prefer, coriander is
cilantro seed. (I understand that people from away often use one
word to refer to both, but I won't comment further, for fear that
someone will try to explain how to pronounce them)

As I understand it, there is a fairly common but mild allergy to
the leafy herb; people with this allergy often decribe the taste
of cilantro as 'soapy'. I've never heard any of these people complain
about the taste of coriander, though the tastes and smells are
closely related to my palate.
