Ha. That's a euro symbol :). As for why you get it, who knows? It doesn't
seem to resolve to anything sensible in any encoding I try; I guess that
the message has been mangled along the way somewhere (maybe the server,
which mistreats certain Latin-1 chars (IIRC).
