Basque, definitely, for its grammar, and some Australian language for weirdness of sound (no fricatives! lots of nasals!). If you're interested in PIE you should have a look at Lithuanian, which is very archaic. A Turkish lang might also be useful for their vowel harmony and suffixing agglutination. Then there's... I guess what I'm trying to say is that you should at least look at a native language from each continent, to stea^Wborrow ideas from. Finding info about australian or american indian languages at your local library might be tricky but there's lotsa neat stuff on the web these days. t., currently testing kmail
