I've just been working on translating short forms of the 10 commandments into Ikanirae Seru. Here they are (adapted from Exodus 20:2-17): (Abbreviations: IMP=imperative; NL=non-living) 1. otu ka ki sora yataya osa uti o you not have other gods besides me IMP. "Do not have other gods than me." 2. otu ka rokiya nakira o you not make idol IMP. "Do not make an idol." 3. otu ka neosa enari ro yahue ataya ro otu sekaso o you not use name of LORD god of you wrong IMP. "Do not misuse the name of the LORD your god." 4. otu ikemahi samata nome you remember Sabbath day ti nikaro roha reona o and keep it(NL) holy IMP. "Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy." 5. otu tira rasio ti kasio ro otu o you honour father and mother of you IMP. "Honour your father and mother." 6. otu ka mikoru o you not kill IMP. "Do not kill" 7. otu ka misayu o. you not adulter IMP "Do not commit adultery." 8. otu ka tareko o you not steal IMP. "Do not steal. 9. otu ka kosaha naera kata eriha you not break truth in court na kinera ro otu o about neighbour of you IMP. "Do not bear false witness against your neighbour" 10. otu ka imami o you not envy IMP. "Do not envy."
