Cultural variety at work; pretty much everything in the form of exams, essays
etc I've ever handed in at school/Uni has been in pencil (except stuff written
on a computer, of course). I've lately, for no particular reason, taken to
sign my name in ballpoint on exams, but that's just a personal quirk.

And I truly hate writing actual texts in anything non-erasable.
