Also from the area, I say [s&n'luIs @'bIspou], or just [s&n'luIs]. Kris, do you really put the stress on the second syllable of "Luis", or is that an error from being new to CXS? I've always associated that stress pattern with out-of-towners, especially when it becomes [lu'is], the way it would be pronounced in Spanish.

I've seen the two vowels directly next to each other, the way you have for "Higuera" (expect that /y/ is the front close rounded vowel in IPA; you mean /j/). This contrasts with placing a period between the vowels, to indicate a syllable break. -- AA (watch the Reply-To!)
