While we non-natives are taught to pronounce those last letters as
voiceless, I believe there was discussion on this list many, *many*
moons ago where some native speakers felt those sounds were somewhere
in between voiced-ness and total voicelessness. I just devoice 'em --
hell, I'm not a native, sue me.
As for "Ihnen" pronounced /ajn@n/, I don't care if there *are* native
speakers out there who pronounce it this way, it's just wrong, wrong,
wrong. My non-native fiat -- cope.
