Beekes also gives Greek pélekus, Sanskrit paraśú-, postulating the rather
strange-looking *pelek^u- as a PIE source. AHD has no such root, but does
give *pel- ~ *pelA- as 'to thrust, strike, drive', though there's no
suitable candidate for the second element.
