-th is one of the forms of marking simple plural. Nouns ending in a stop fricativize it (-t > -th, -p > -f, etc. except k, g). Nouns ending in a fricative make it stop + fric (-th > -tth) Nouns ending in -s add -st (-s > -sst, syllabic ss) Other nouns add -th. --Pablo Flores
