Funny, in Dutch "sentence" is "zin" which also means "sense, significance" (with "onzin" meaning "nonsense" :) ). It can also mean "mind, liking" as in "is het naar je zin?": "is it to your liking?". I've always found the conflation of meanings quite interesting. And Dutch also has "mening", but it means only "opinion". Funny funny, those crossgermanic comparisons :)) .
