One does not capitalise short prepositions or articles in titles: 'the Kingdom of the Netherlands'.
>The Netherlands is called just Nederland (singular, as opposed to the >English plural form) or fully the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Koninkrijk der >Nederlanden).
And there we go, more lowercased forms.

I still reckon it looks broken.

The 'sudden' capitalisation is an established practice in English: one capitalises the titles 'Mum' (or "Mom"), 'Dad', 'Grandma' etc. And in the case of 'Oma'/'Opa', when I tried to include them in a story in Grade One or something, my teacher capitalised them and so that's just stuck with them. Why the sudden apostrofication? (to coin a term.) Pop (paternal grandfather) died before I was born. In fact, he was also dying at an inconsiderate time: my parents had to get married a week before Valentine's Day so that he could be around for it... (the wedding, not V's D.) I always knew the man next door (Levus, or something) as 'Grandad'. It never struck me as odd that his wife was Margaret, not Granma, and that he wasn't related to us. It did, however, strike me as odd that he wasn't my grandad. Insane children...
>And still making a fuss about taking in a few boat refugees? Hah!
'Boat refugees'? Now _that's_ weird. 'Boat people' (being the right-wing, don't-let-the-damn-boat-people-in term) or 'Refugees' (being the left-wing term). And _I_ never made a fuss about it. As far as I'm concerned, they can come in so long as they assimilate into our country. But don't forget that Australia consists of desert and the odd green patch (green=brown). (Our PM, Little Jonnie, recieved a standing ovation when in America. Had he been in Australia, the only reason anyone would have been standing would have been to get better aim... (Tristan realises that had 10 November been a week ago, Howard would've got a third term in office (which may have resulted in the third PM to die while in office. (One of them, Harold Holt, was lost while swimming. So we named a swimming pool after him ;) ))) (Remind me not to embed brackets that deeply in future.) In a country where voting is compulsory, you get two kinds of votes: stupid votes and protest votes. (Tristan is pissed off because he misses out on voting this time by half a year... Stupid minimum age of 18...) Tristan
