If you want to call a coincidence "parallel development"...
Yivokuchi is set sufficiently far away in time as to have
erased all traces of old IE roots, though there might be
some heavily mutated correspondences. I couldn't have
thought about IE |pot-| except for isolated terms like
|potable|. In any case, I had |paot| 'drink (n)' before
|pot| in Y. (and those come from Old Y. /pOt/ 'drink (v)',
with vowel lengthening for noun derivation).
