If you want to call a coincidence "parallel development"... Yivokuchi is set sufficiently far away in time as to have erased all traces of old IE roots, though there might be some heavily mutated correspondences. I couldn't have thought about IE |pot-| except for isolated terms like |potable|. In any case, I had |paot| 'drink (n)' before |pot| in Y. (and those come from Old Y. /pOt/ 'drink (v)', with vowel lengthening for noun derivation). --Pablo Flores http://www.angelfire.com/scifi2/nyh/index.html "The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation.
