Hm, you're not exactly the first person I've heard who've felt so about
expressions like "my girlfriend", altho I've got some difficulty grasping the
concept - why should "my girlfriend" be more possessory than "my friend"*
or "my brother" or "my enemy"? (I do assume you don't claim ownership of any
personal enemies you might have!)
