I'd been pretty certain you must be the same Peter Bleackley (it's not
a common name), but while I remember you as actively interested in
astronomy and theology, I don't recall you ever posting about
linguistics. Do you still lurk on afp now and then?
Afp played a significant part in my getting here. I did a tiny bit of
conlanging when I was young; the topic came up on afp once; I learned
a few things from that but not about Conlang specifically; later I
went to a meet in the Netherlands in February 2000 and stayed with
Irina and Boudewijn, also ex-afpers; Irina told me where to find the
Conlang list and the rest is history.
I haven't actively conlanged for a while, so I don't post here much
nowadays, but once in a while I feel I have something worth saying.
Involvement in conlanging has helped me to complete my BSc, by giving
me a head start in two or three linguistics topics that I incorporated
into my elective stream.
Adrian.
