well, maybe the fact that it's overrated and overused raised my
expectations when i read it or it could be that i blame him for all the
cheap crap that's being published now. shakespeare's writing just seems
cheap to me. i'm also annoyed by his lack of imagination and apparent
ignorance wrt english history. a lot of stuff that is usually considered
Literature with a capital L is IMNSHO crap, and i usually have to try
pretty hard to find good stuff 'cuz people just say "if you want somthing
from <period>, read something by <author>," as if the work of one author
represents everything written in a period of 200 years...
